 The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (I-EA-T) is a state enterprise mandated to develop industrial estates that are fully equipped with utilities and facilities under a management system and service provision of international standard, transparent and accountable, to support domestic and foreign industrial investment
Relocation of Factories into Industrial Estates
It is the governments policy to relocate factories into the industrial estates as part of the systematic and orderly town planning, and environmental management. I-EA-T Board of Directors therefore appointed a subcommittee to seek appropriate means and measures to attract and promote the setting up of factories in the industrial estates.
The following measures were proposed to meet the objectives
1. Promotion of factory setup in the industrial estates, consisting of
1.1 Legal aspect - various temporary and permanentmeasues wee released forexmple some tpe of fatoies ae
not tempoail allowed within 10 kilomeers adius from whee the industial estate located; a pemaenet ule
staing that in any aa whee the industial estae located, no factoies will not be allowed outside the industial
estate unless the existing industial estate cannot meet the requiement.
1.2 Privilege concerned - I-EA-T has negotiated with BOI for effetie measue in offeing special privileges to
entepeneurs in the industrial estate. Many schemes to pomote the granting of privileges following I-EA-T
Act ae as follows :
- Extession of the existing pivileges to industrial estates
- Adjustment of the conceptual framework for Integrated Textiles industrial estate.
- The new dimension project to service foreign technician.
- Electronic-permission system.
1.3 Tax Incentives
- Land and property tax.
- The Cabinet's resolution to exempt business tax to companies and juristic partnership for the sale of their
real eatate (land and factory) before moving their factories into the industrial estate.
- Refund of value added tax (VAT) to entrepreneurs in the industrial estate.
